IN THE FOREST

Clients wanted a more open and connected kitchen that would open up to the sunny front yard. The house, nestled close to forests and tall trees, needed more light and brightness while maintaining privacy.
The renovation scope included a kitchen, a deck extension to the front, and bathroom renovations. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the addition with the existing rooflines, making it appear as though there was never a renovation or addition. This required maximizing the allowable front-to-side ratio (FSR) within the zoning and setback regulations.
